A web layout designed for the art related subdomain of That’s QT. Emphasis was based upon optimising the layout to enable flexible navigation around the site.

Details: The stars came about before the brainstorm. Tools from both Adobe Photoshop 5.0 and Macromedia Fireworks MX was used to create this design. Further plans were made with pencil and paper.
The Idea: The design will feature stars. Stars. I knew that from the beginning and was pretty determined not to drop the idea. It started off with a 2D star. I was planning a plain vector design. What happened to that?
I think the design flew off the rails when the thought ‘I want the stars to glow’ crossed my mind. With 100+ layers the design all of a sudden turned into a space theme. Nevertheless, the design still turned out alright.
Features:
- Random Art Display: On the sidebar, images were rotated to give visitors a sneak peak at some of the art available on the site.
- Recent Updates: A list of the five most recent updates for that particular section.
- Sidebar: Depending on the ‘section’ of the site – the navigation options on the sidebar will alternate.
Theme Analysis: There is plenty of art in this world – just like the abundance of stars in the sky. Hopefully, the artwork there will grow to glow like stars.
